Online Registration of children for Indian Citezenship  

It has been made mandatory by Government of India for registering online the birth of a child as an Indian citizen. For detail information applicants are requested to visit the website of Ministry of Home Affairs http://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in

PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

In order to register the birth of a child born within the consular jurisdiction of the High Commission of India, Maputo i.e. Mozambique and Swaziland as an Indian citizen, the application must be made online as mentioned below.

  • Completed and signed application form for Misc. Consular Services
  • A passport size photograph pasted on the application.
  • Original passport and one copy (front and last page only)
  • Documents to be attested must be submitted in original with its two photocopies.

(Power of Attorney, declaration, Affidavits would be signed before the consular officer of the Indian High Commission, who will verify and satisfy himself about the identity of the executant/deponent on the basis of his/her passport)

2. Police Clearance Certificate

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued by the High Commission, certifying the person's criminal record with the Indian police. It is generally required when a person applies for a visa/resident visa/work permit/acquiring foreign nationality. It will be issued only when the High Commission has a Fresh clear Police Verification Report of the applicant available in the system.

Documents required :

  • Completed and signed application form for PCC
  • Two passport size photographs (one to be pasted and other to be enclosed with the PCC application form) .
  • Original passport and one copy (front and last page only)

Processing time: Normally next working day

3. Attestation of Police Clearance Certificate issued from India

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued by Passport Offices and by police stations in India are also required to be attested by the High Commission when a person applies for a visa/resident visa/work permit.

Documents required :

  • Completed and signed application form for PCC
  • A passport size photograph pasted on the application.
  • Passport’s copy (front and last page only)
  • Original Indian PCC and one photocopy.
